Yes, Angela - the joys of winter running. Sweder raves about it ... and on a crisp sunny morning, I tend to agree with him.

This wasn't one of those mornings. But it certainly blew the cobwebs away.

Hello BB - just nipped through to your site and am full of admiration! Took on my first Ultra this year - Two Oceans in Cape Town, a baby ultra at 35 miles. It was tougher than trying to fight Mike Tyson in a room full of broken glass.

Walk/ run sounds interesting - I tried to run all the way which, with hindsight, may have been extremely daft. I'll keep an eye on your progress from now on.

Muchas gracias !

Yes, BB - the mysteries of the 10 km. It's a frantic, breathless affair from start to finish, and it's not my favourite distance, either.

But in mitigation, it does leave more time for convivial conversation than those longer distances.

Hola! Roads.
Yes, as far removed from the magical Haile as is possible to be; I fear my tread, unlike the floating master, was heavy enough to crack paving slabs; yet it needed to be, else I'd've ended up blown clean to Littlehampton or beyond.

That finish of yours recalls another, not un-related; our first in Almería: http://www.runningcommentary.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=501 . Such moments make a running life, and here's to many more.

Al contrario, Antonio. I fear I slowed you down, so I'm very pleased we squeezed inside 54 minutes, after all.

I'll give my legs a rest this week. More strength is needed if I'm to keep up with your new pace in Andalucia next January.

Well done on a fabulous PB, carved out of appallingly hostile and foreign conditions.

A performance which mark outs a great champion, indeed.
